A place for everything, and everything in its place…
The PR department has its own subforum here on the Legion boards, but sometimes it’s still tough to find out where to go for what, when you need something. So I’ve compiled all of the various links to the PR materials that we’ve got available here and collected them in this one post. This isn’t everything, by any stretch, but I have left off proprietary files like the Trooper of the Month envelopes and certificates, the Legion Command letterhead, and older materials that are out of date.
And to make it easier to find, I’ve placed this Tool Box in a sticky post in the PR Forums. As new materials are created, that post will be updated. There’s a wealth of material out there to help promote the 501st Legion and your local units. Now it will all be in one place!

This is a 16-page full color document that covers in broad strokes the history of the 501st Legion and what we do. It can be useful for giving a member of the media a solid foundation on which to write an article or presented to prospective event hosts as part of a pitch for them to enlist our services. It is also an effective primer for any member who is just stepping into a PR role or who might be asked to speak with a member of the press.

501st Legion logos can be downloaded from the following websites. Also note that these pages describe the proper use of our logos and list several ways in which they should
not be used. If there is ever a question, contact Legion PR Officer (LPRO) and/or the Legion Merchandise & Branding Officer (LMBO) for more guidance. 501st Legion Master Logo Archive – EPS Files (for PRINT use): http://www.501st.com/logoarchive/epsfiles.htm 501st Legion Master Logo Archive – JPG Files (for WEB use): http://www.501st.com/logoarchive/jpegfiles.htm FONTS
The Logo Archive pages above also have a small number of fonts that you can download. These fonts have been vetted and “approved” for Legion use.
For your convenience, I have compressed them into a ZIP folder that you can download below. I’ve also compiled more than 30 other fonts that have a “Star Wars” flavor which might be useful in the creation of Legion materials. In many of those cases, they are fonts in another language (Mandalorian, Nal-Huttese, Trade Federation, Ewok, etc). While I would not recommend using these fonts for educational PR materials, they do come in handy when embellishing materials with a stamp of in-universe creativity.
PLEASE NOTE: The “Vader’s Fist” font, created by TK-899, is NOT to be used for anything except materials related to the 501st Legion.
PLEASE NOTE: There are no fonts here from the “Star Jedi” family of fonts. “Star Jedi” and other fonts like it try to emulate the iconic “Star Wars” logo. Lucasfilm has specifically requested that that kind of font NOT be used for anything but the
Star Wars logo. While some of our unit logos do make use of a “Star Jedi” style of font (as do some patches), these fonts have no place in Legion or local unit PR materials. 501st Legion-Approved Fonts: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B60dNHmWVxEmeHF4bUV0dG0xQlE/view?usp=sharing Other Star Wars Fonts: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B60dNHmWVxEmYmQyYzliaWxZTlk/view?usp=sharing RECRUITMENT MATERIALS
These are essential materials for bringing new members into the fold. No convention table is complete without the Detachment handout.

The CRL Table Book (by Phil Fraboni) is an ongoing work in progress which acts like a kind of catalog of possibilities for joining the Legion. It’s a great conversation starter when given a prominent place on a convention table.
We always send a link to the “Joining the 501st” digital document whenever someone makes a generic request of Leigon Command for more information about joining. It is a conversational (yet fairly comprehensive) FAQ on steroids, written for the person who doesn’t quite know where to start.

“So You Want To Be A…” The CRL Trifold initiative is aimed at creating trifolds that local members can print out themselves, with a focus on the more popular characters in the ranks of the 501st… not the most recognized or high-profile, but the ones that we can never have too many of. The goal here is to pique a potential member’s interests enough to visit the Detachment sites and start doing more research on what it takes to become a member. Other CRL tri-folds are in the works, and when they are completed, they will be added here.

The table runner files are for screen printing table cloths. You can find a local vendor to handle this for you, or search the merchandise sections of the 501st forums to find out if someone is open to orders.

Occupy Lothal! These agit-prop posters extolling the heroism and safety of the Emperor’s New Order can bring color to any convention booth! IMPORTANT NOTE: Lucasfilm has granted us permission to use these propaganda posters from
Star Wars Rebels to decorate our convention tables and booths, but we are absolutely and expressly forbidden from giving them away to the public in any form. If you have any questions about that, let me know. Star Wars Rebels propaganda posters: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B60dNHmWVxEmSzhiUlJOT2hyTUU/edit?usp=sharing BLAST-A-TROOPER SUPPLIES
The Blast-a-Trooper logo ZIP file below contains the banner style logo on both a black background and on a white background as vector PDFs. The black background version also has a high-res JPG version. And there is a PNG file of the circular “patch” style logo.
These BaT Certificates of Marksmanship are large JPG files, sized for printing on both A4 and Letter-sized paper. They make great mementos for kids who play our Blast-a-Trooper games, making the exprience just a little more special. And since you can print them out yourself, they don’t cost a lot to get together. Anyone who wants a version of that using their local unit logo, let me know and I can make it up for you.

I’ve collected a great number of activity books and pages over the years. Here they all are for you to download and use at events. The 501st Legion and Bounty Hunter books were created by Dean and I, respectively. The Rebel Legion book belongs to our sister organization, but it has been posted online for public use. For all of the other activity books and pages from
Star Wars Rebels , The Clone Wars , DK Books, and Star Wars Reads Day, we have been either granted explicit permission to use them, or they were freely available for the public to download through official sites. 501st Legion Activity Book: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B60dNHmWVxEmMjZMNTh1OHVWM28/view?usp=sharing Bounty Hunter Activity Book: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B60dNHmWVxEmMS1Ub2VyRGY1Nnc/view?usp=sharing Rebel Legion Activity Book: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B60dNHmWVxEmMmk2aEE0STdKaEE/view?usp=sharing Star Wars Rebels Activity Pages: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B60dNHmWVxEmcUdFYmhGOGE2N28/view?usp=sharing Star Wars The Clone Wars Activity Pages: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B60dNHmWVxEmcXZpY21JV2VLWG8/view?usp=sharing DK Star Wars Activity Kit (2011): https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B60dNHmWVxEmRC1pS3ZBdTlteVE/view?usp=sharing Star Wars Reads Day Activity Kit (2012): https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B60dNHmWVxEmaUZId2xpNlZCZkE/view?usp=sharing Star Wars Reads Day Activity Kit (2014): https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B60dNHmWVxEmMUpJQmViY2VzVU0/view?usp=sharing
The Trooper Citation is essentially a traffic ticket for your members to hand out to members of the public. Print them out, slice the pages into thirds, and have fun playing the enforcers of the New Order!

Most important of these is going to be be Social Media Guidelines for Facebook. This is a document full of best practices and suggestions for how to run your local unit’s social media Fan Page on Facebook. It was assembled by Dean Plantamura (Tuskentrooper) with input from a number of other members of the Legion PR team. If you have any questions about it, please ask the LPRO.

The Imperial Com-Scan News Feed and the Rebel Legion News Feeds are custom ‘Interest” feeds on Facebook. They are essentially Facebook news feeds that draw only from the pages that are included in the feed. In the case of the Con-Scan feed, those are only the official unit pages of the 501st. Click the link and ‘Follow” it, and a new link will appear on your left-hand Facebook menu under “Interests.” There’s also a Rebel Legion feed for people who want to keep tabs on the “enemy.”
