Dune Sea Garrison 2025 Community Impact.

In 2025, the Dune Sea Garrison proudly continued our mission to bring the magic of Star Wars to communities across Arizona.  We strive to make a positive impact through service, charity, and public engagement as “Bad guys doing good.” Our members attended 150 events throughout the state, giving their time, creativity, and passion to brighten lives and support vital causes.

From hospital visits and charity walks to school carnivals and cultural festivals, our presence brought joy to children and adults alike. We supported Phoenix Children’s Hospital, the Ronald McDonald House, Banner Health, Tucson Medical Center, and numerous special needs and pediatric organizations, delivering smiles to patients and families in difficult times.

We also participated in a wide range of fundraising events and awareness walks supporting causes like autism, cancer, cystic fibrosis, ALS, epilepsy, Down syndrome, and mental health. Our appearances at walks such as the Walk to End Epilepsy, MS Walk, PanCAN PurpleStride, AFSP Out of the Darkness Walk, and Light the Night helped build stronger, more compassionate communities.

Education and inspiration were key themes as well. The Garrison participated in events promoting STEM learning, youth mentorship, and library outreach, including Galaxy STEM Fest, Fan Fairs, and school visits. We also honored our local heroes by participating in law enforcement appreciation events, Shop with a Cop, and the Battle of the Badges charity football game.

2024 saw record participation in “May the 4th” celebrations statewide from libraries and schools to comic shops and fan festivals, bringing the Force to life for thousands of fans. We also supported large-scale events such as Phoenix Fan Fusion, Tucson Comic-Con, and the Arizona Diamondbacks’ Star Wars Night, helping to raise awareness and support for charitable causes through fan engagement.

Whether visiting a child in the hospital, walking in costume to raise awareness, or celebrating with a community during a parade or trunk-or-treat, the Dune Sea Garrison was there using our love for Star Wars as a force for good.

We were honored to have participated in several fantastic parades, including the Fiesta Bowl Parade, the Flagstaff 4th of July Parade, Phoenix Pride Parade, Fountian Hills Thangsgiving Day Parade, Sierra Vista Veterans Day Parade, Phoenix’s Veterans’ Day Parade, and the Tuscon Holiday Parade. 

We are grateful for the opportunity to serve, and we look forward to continuing our mission in 2026.
