At the heart of the Dune Sea Garrison lies a powerful mission: to use our love of Star Wars to make a difference in the real world. Every year, our volunteers step out in costume not just to celebrate fandom, but to bring comfort, raise awareness, and support meaningful causes throughout Arizona.
2025: Another Great Year of Giving Back
In 2025, the Dune Sea Garrison participated in 150 community events. Most of them focused on charitable causes, health awareness, and helping children and families in need. We supported organizations that fight for better healthcare, serve children in foster care, assist individuals with special needs, and uplift those facing life-threatening illnesses.

A Galaxy of Causes
The Dune Sea Garrison proudly partners with local and national charitable organizations. Our appearances at walks, runs, hospital visits, special needs proms, Shop with a Cop events, and countless fundraisers demonstrate our commitment to using the Force for good, even as the “bad guys.”
These appearances are always volunteer-based, and our members never accept payment for their time. When donations are involved, we direct them to official charities and causes we support. We work closely with organizations to ensure every appearance makes a meaningful impact.
Fandom with Purpose
Star Wars may be fiction, but the love and hope it inspires are very real. Whether we’re celebrating May the 4th, cheering on participants in a charity walk, or visiting a child in the hospital, we carry the message that heroes can come from anywhere—and that anyone can make a difference.
The Dune Sea Garrison is proud to be a beacon of compassion and service in the Star Wars community. We thank all of the organizers, families, and supporters who invite us to be part of their mission, and we look forward to continuing this work in the future.
